NEWS & NOTES

The Summer schedule for Sunday mornings is one service at 9:30 a.m., and will continue through Rally Day in September. Saturday evening service remains at 5:30 P.M. Be sure to check the September Herald for time and dates of all activities that will resume that month. There will be no First Family Fellowship Sunday services until the fall.

The healing service will be held on July 19th after the 5:30 Service and again on Sunday, July 20th after the 9:30 service. In August the healing service will be held on Saturday, August 16th after the 5:30 P.M. service and again on Sunday, August 17th after the 9:30 A.M. service.

The Thursday Morning Bible study will resume in the fall-watch the Herald for starting dates.

St. David's has been called to provide 10-14 volunteers for Habitat for Humanity 2008 Thrivent Build Work Day in Mastic. On Saturday, August 16, we will begin the day with an 8:45am check-in; 9:00am will be the Habitat talk & safety talk. Lunch break will be at 12:00 noon and we begin the clean up at 2:30pm so that we can end the day by 3:00pm. The type of work is yet to be determined (possibly sheetrock installation or painting). St. David's members, preschool families and friends are welcome to volunteer. ALL volunteers on a Habitat Construction site must be at least 16 years old. No experience is necessary. St. David's is starting a Prayer Shawl Ministry. There are many members among us that could use some prayers and a hug when they are going through a rough time and we have just the thing!

Pastor will bless each shawl at a church service prior to it being given to the recipient. For more information contact Karen Krieg at Haykatk26@optonline.net or 516.249.1095.

Stay in Shape for the Summer! Aerobic classes continue at St. David's on Tuesdays evenings at 7:30 pm. For more information call Lois Gaiti at 798-6159.

Can't do aerobics, but need to exercise? Lois Gaiti is conducting "Stretch and Tone" classes on Monday mornings at 10:00 am at St. David's.
